HOW TO GET A V-TAPER

To have a truly aesthetic and complete physique you need a V taper. This can be best described as the shape from the top of your shoulders all the way down to your waist. It is the classic bodybuilder shape and the one that many aspire to reach. The most classic and iconic poses are those by bodybuilders of the golden generation such as Frank Zane and Arnie where they show that magnificent shape. For me this beautiful shape is more pleasing to look at than the mass monsters of today with thick blocky waists. So I’ve put together my favourite “V-Taper” workout. This workout targets the lats from different angles as well as throwing in some barbell oblique twists to help tighten up that waist line. Having this look will really accentuate your shape and give you that Classic look.

Straight arm pull-down 3* 15
Seated low cable row 3* 15
Reverse grip lat pulldown 3* 10
Reverse grip barbell 3* 10
Close-grip lat pulldown 3* 10
Barbell Oblique twists 3* 20

Follow this plan for 8 weeks and I guarantee you’ll see your lats grow and develop a classic V-taper.
